Services & Supports

Family, friendships and community

Our task is to reconnect people to other people and things that are important to them or help them find new interests and passions.

We link people together for social and fun connections,  supporting new skills, new opportunities and new friendships.  Our aim is to do whatever it takes (B Willer) where dreaming big can lead to more choices, greater control and a happier life.  Many social activities are a stepping stone to rebuild skills and find others who share same or similar interests.

Headstart offers a large range of different activities each month which promote friendships between people, all of which occur in the community.  The activities focus on inclusion and reclaiming a sense of belonging by participating in the local community.

Activities are enjoyable, creative and rewarding!

We all have a need to belong and to build confidence and self esteem.

Strengthening families

Brain Injury can also have devastating impacts for the family… In reality overnight it appears that everything has changed. What was stable is now unstable and what was known is now not known. It’s a difficult place to live.

Families are faced with many challenges and difficulties. We provide emotional support , encouragement and information for families in dealing with a changed life. We link you with others with similar experiences for emotional support, and knowing you are not alone. We can also refer you to counsellors who have brain injury understanding.
